bombs in bottles
And so begins my least favorite part of being a school librarian: The part of the year where everyone else slacks off except for exam prep, but I am absolutely slammed.
Book fair ended last week, so this week has been genrefying the fiction section, re-assembling all the furniture after a month of art show/book fair, wrangling overdue books and end-of-year fines, and wondering how it is I'm ending the year with a processing and cataloging backlog that is twice as large as the one I started with.
Of course, no one else in the building sees the problem. It's almost summer vacation! Why is Molly so stressed?!
(Actually, that's not true - my principal, God bless her soul, spotted it right away and absolved me from supervising Honors Convocation AND Field Day so I could have a few uninterrupted hours to finish inventory. Also, I had two kids drop by today in desperate need of public service hours so they can stay in National Honor Society, so they get to alphabetize, straighten, and dust for me tomorrow and Monday.)
There are three things left I need to get done before I'll feel safe to leave the library for the summer. If I don't finish them, Fall Me is going to be in a world of hurt. I'm already leaving Fall Me that processing/cataloging backlog, for which she shall surely curse my name come August.
Oh, and did I mention I also have to hold two rounds of colorguard tryouts? Yeesh.
Anyway, I do exist. Just in a somewhat more exhausted state than usual until the beginning of June.
